SUMMARY:Royal School Of Needlework Trip DEPOSIT
DESCRIPTION:Join Osterville Needlepoint for a once in a life time trip to the Royal School of Needlework (RSN)  at Hampton Court Palace outside of London England!  We will be enjoying wonderful exclusive classes for just our group at the RSN.  This price includes all classroom activities\, instructors\, kits\, instruction\, and a 10 % discount at the RSN shop !  How exciting to be actually taking a class at a palace! You are responsible for your housing and airfare.  The total price of $1600.00 has a $500.00 deposit at booking. Unfortunately this is non refundable.  By June 1st pay an additional $500.00 with the ($600.00) due on August 1st. \nPlease plan your airfare to land at London Heathrow on the morning of September 19th.  We will have free  transportation available provided you have cleared customs by noon.  Saturday night we will have a wine and cheese reception where you will receive your swag bags including a special canvas to remember your trip!  Sunday we will be touring the exhibit featuring Queen Elizabeth the II’s wedding dress!  Designed by Sir Norman Hartnell and unveiled to the world in 1947. The gown remains an enduring symbol of postwar optimism\, craftsmanship and regal elegance. \nThe first two day class begins with a STUNNING piece based on the wedding dress.  These hand embroidery techniques which are transferable to needlepoint include; \n\nBeading over satin and tulle\nString padding and beading\nBeaded stem stitch in the round\nCut fabric and tulle insert\nSilk ribbon wrapped beads.\n\nA box lunch will be included. \nWednesday is free for you to enjoy London. If you choose the recommended hotel\, you will be near the Thames and can enjoy a boat trip to London or take a fast train to Waterloo.  We will be taking a group to London that day with a boat trip to the tower of London to see the crown jewels and more stunning embroidery.  Fees for train\, boat and entrance to the tower are not included. \nThursday and Friday’s class is Goldwork. Your instructor\, Helen\,  worked on Royal gowns and items at the coronation and is an expert on this subject! Lunch is on your own at the palace! \nSaturday’s class is a blackwork class ? \nAll techniques are transferable to needlepoint and can only enhance your skills.  We are excited for you to join us! \n \n

DESCRIPTION:Pick a canvas from the shop 4 months prior to class and Kathleen and Cindy will send it off to award winning stitch guide writer and teacher\, Cynthia Thomas (Cindy) who will prepare a fun and exciting stitch guide filled with the latest threads and embellishment choices for you. Lunch is included daily\,  threads and stitch guide are not.\nDuring the 3-day class we’ll discuss stitches in your guide\, go over techniques to improve your stitching and have fun. Students will learn not only from their own canvas\, but from other class canvases. \nCindy started her teaching career in Houston in 1987. She has taught at shops\, needlework guilds and national needlework trade shows. She has been a columnist for Needle Pointers\, Needlepoint Now and Cross Stitch and Needleworks. She was one of the early stitch guide writers for canvas designers such as: The Princess and Me\, Melissa Shirley Designs\, Shelly Tribbey\, Rebecca Wood\, Whimsy and Grace and many more. She has written 100’s of custom stitch guides for stitchers. She has won awards at Woodlawn Plantation and the American Needlepoint Guild. She is the author of Noses\, Roses and Other Fun Stuff; How To Use Microsoft Office to Create Diagrams\, and Stitch Guides; and Presto Chango! How to Create New Stitches. \nThis is her first time to New England.  Don’t miss out.
